What is a domain name?
A domain name is the essence of your company's online identity. It is the address your customers use to find information about your products and services on the web. domain names allow Internet users to type in a name, such as yourdomain.com, to identify a numeric Internet Protocol (IP) address such as 207.15.12.173. The purpose of domain names is to allow users connected to the Internet the ability to find web sites without having to memorize the long, numerical (IP) addresses that actually locate the computers or servers on the Internet.

Why are your fees so low?
Domainsnext.com is one of the fastest growing domain name registration services.  Our customers are doubling and tripling each month.  We are witnessing a tremendous growth in our domain registrations and domain transfers.  Many of our customers register multiple domain names in all extensions (.com .net .org) to protect their identity.  This higher than usual multiple registration is due to our low prices.  We believe that the domain registration should be affordable and no one should charge the exorbitant charges levied by the major companies.  As we grow, our base grows, and our revenue will grow to maintain our low prices hopefully for years to come.  Spread the word about us.  Our goal is to maintain our low cost, and affordable domain name registration prices with no hidden fees.

What does it mean to "register" a domain name?
There is a central registry of all domain names on the Internet. For your domain name to become a part of the registry, your domain name needs to be added to that registry. "Registering" a domain name means you are associated with that domain name for the period of the registration. Only ICANN-approved Registrars have access to the database.

Who should register a domain name?
Anyone thinking about establishing a presence on the Internet should register a domain name. You don't have to utilize it right away, but you can reserve it for your future use. Domains are being registered at the rate of more than 300,000 per month- they go quickly!

How long does the registration process take?
The application process should only take a few minutes to complete. All registrations take place in real time - once your application has been processed and approved, your name is registered.

Is it possible for someone to register my domain name after I have registered it?
The availability of .com .net and .org domain names is verified through a central registry system. This system prevents a domain name that is successfully registered from being registered by another person or entity. The registration and processing system updates the central registry in real time.

I own a new domain, but when I type it into my browser, nothing comes up.
Again, a domain name is not a website, just a web address for a website. If you want your new domain to be a web address for a website for your corporate or personal use, you must associate it with a Web Site Builder web that you design through the DomainsNext.com website, or host your website with us or some other web design/ h o s t i n g company. When your website is ready, we can "point" your new domain to that website. If you already have a website, and registered a new domain for it, be aware that some h o s t i n g companies do not accept a domain pointing to their host site (members.abigisp.com/your-abigisp-site~template1765, for example) Also, it may take a few days for the routing to point to your new host on an acceptable server.
